My Story
I was born and raised in Bloomington/Normal Illinois, growing up art was always an interest in my life. I took which ever classes I could at the time while still discovering other aspects of life, yet still knowing art was my true passion. I entered a couple of small local competitions as well as assisting my father with the start of his art career, learning a bit more than your average artist at my age. Seeing the way art shows were along with the community that came around it was great inspiration. Going to college I figured obtaining enough income to support the hobby would be the best way for me to do this. I attended the University of Missouri for a short period of time to drop out a year for lack of interest in what I was studying, still pursuing the money I found my self graduating from State Technical College of Missouri trade school studying Nuclear Technology Operations. I landed a Job in Iowa at Duane Arnold Energy Center! Step one complete, high paying job right out of college what more could I ask for. Unfortunately the plant announced it was closing earlier than planned. I was at the bottom of the totem pole so I made the decision to start my career and take this opportunity to move somewhere completely new out side of the Midwest. This is where I ended up working for Intel Corporation out in Phoenix Arizona! No more snow for me and a whole new page of my book to be written. On my 25th Birthday I committed to really start my journey as an artist.
Creating my Art Instagram page to kick it off my goal was to create paintings that were beautiful to look at and intrigued the mind to evoke emotions from who ever looked at it. Around this time I took a trip out to Big Bear California, to visit a buddy from college. Here, his friend who was staying with him was kind of in the same boat. Chasing the money to support the dream and he informed me that I could start tattooing for an affordable price, and with enough time I could switch it into a full time job. Why hadn’t I thought of this before hand! That same day I purchased what I needed to begin. A new medium that I hadn’t attempted before, I was excited quickly dove right in. Juggling painting and tattooing became a handful while working a full time corporate job each week. I worked up until a point where I could not keep up with the design and production for my art, which lead to a point of quitting corporate America and making the jump to do art full time! So here I am approaching two years of chasing my passion and taking the full plunge into being a full time artist! I hope you enjoy my journey and find inspiration through my work!
